Sabre "D" Guard

Product Code: VB.Sabre.Polish.D
Wider blade Sabre made for Purpleheart Armoury by VB in Hungary.

Mostly designed for a hilt that large SPES gloves can fit into for maximum hand protection. The D-hilt or Stirup guard is based on a couple designs like the 1796/1803 light cavalry saber, or an Austria-Hungarian sabre also has a similar hilt.

The blade has a nice deep curve, more than our other wider military sabre.

V5 - We have done lots of prototypes over the last year to get this right.

See Sizing tab for more information.
- Heat treated guard
- strong flexible blade.

Good training sabre
Looks and feels good. Guard is large enough to fit heavy gloves. Blade is a bit stiff but not so much to be unsafe. Balance feels good for a cavalry sabre. I definitely recommend it especially for the price

Great Value, but heavier/stiffer than listed
Overall this saber is a great value for the money like most of the VB swords. I gave it 4 out 5 because it was a lot heavier than the listed weight which would technically exclude it from a lot of tournaments that have a 900g weight limit on saber requirements. It also tested stiffer on the flex than listed by a little more than 6lbs so not insignificant...I'd definitely call it a stiff blade, no

Well balanced sabre.
A great option if you practice British Military Sabre! The sword is balanced well in the hand and very durable. The blade is relatively stiff, but still flexes enough to be safe during a thrust. All of the swords I purchased from VB have been quality weapons.
