This gambeson was designed keeping in mind the needs of competitors in the group tournaments (bohurts) who care most about their safety without lack of mobility. This gambeson gives great protection and amortisation especially for the body parts which are most exposed to injury such as neck, backbone, shoulders, and hips. It is perfect for using it in bohurt fights as well as in individual tournaments. Thanks to this gambeson, you may significantly reduce the risk of getting injured.

This gambeson is fully compatible with other products from HMB line.

Design:
The gambeson has a collar and over-the-crotch long. To improve the mobility, the sleeve consists of two elements connected over the elbow and has a gusset under the armpit. Thanks to this design, the sleeve is better adapted to the anatomical shape of the arm. Wrist slits make it easier to put the gambeson on or off. There are also two short cuts on both sides of gambeson for better movement while walking.

Quilting:
- torso below the waist - horizontal
- torso over the waist - vertical
- shoulders and arms - rhombuses
- forearms - close/dense vertical quilting

Padding:
Construction of padding layers was designed to keep the best possible mobility, keep the weight as low as possible and to protect body part which are most exposed to hits. Layering is illustrated on the picture attached.

Fastening:
Gambeson is closed on the front with 10 pewter casted buttons.

Additional elements:
In standard option, this gambeson has bindings attached to the places where additional arm protectors are usually mounted (shoulders, arms, elbows or forearms protectors).

When checking out using the Custom Size option ONLY, include your measurements (according to the Sizing chart in the adjacent tab) in the Comment section during checkout. Do not use punctuation and enter measurements in centimeters (it's made in Europe!) ALL MEASUREMENTS MUST BE INCLUDED.

There are ready-made points on the sleeves for attaching the armor. We have placed holes in three places on the sleeves: elbows, arms and shoulders, which will make it easier to attach the armor.	Our gambesons are made of linen with a linen lining. Linen works great for this type of medieval costumes. It is airy and anti-allergic.

Woolen felt - lightweight and natural solution for medieval fighting purpoint

Woolen felt used for the production of this purpoint has numerous advantages. HMBIA medieval fighting enthusiast will surely appreciate high level of hygroscopicity - it can absorb a lot of moisture without feeling of the gambeson being wet. Wool provides a proper thermo regulation of the body and isolation. Natural materials like wool and linen makes this one close to original purpoints and fully biodegradable.

New policy: we are imposing a $25 restocking fee on any return, exchange OR change in the open order for any special color (not black) on any SPES jacket or pants.
So please review your orders carefully and be sure you leave yourself time for your order to arrive if you want custom work, usually 4-8 weeks. I try to have black jackets and pants in stock at all times!

Expand chest when measuring. Add 1" (25mm) to include chest plate.
